We’re very proud of the onsite gym at our Epsom physio clinic. Because we’re focused on giving you the best rehabilitation we can, we have made the gym a high priority in terms of what we do in it, and the equipment we use. Our skill, combined with excellent gear, gives you a huge head start in achieving your goals of injury recovery, gaining strength and maintaining general well-being. Using our equipment, you will enjoy quicker results in pain reduction and a speedy return to getting back to doing what you love. That’s why our gym is so important.
As part of your active rehabilitation, the team at Cairnhill Physiotherapy will put an individualised exercise programme in place for you, in conjunction with hands-on manual therapy treatments. This is where our onsite gym comes into play because we can use it to demonstrate and guide you through one on one sessions that will eventually restore strength, flexibility and balance to your body.
In our gym, we use pilates, free weights, bodyweight and resistance bands to strengthen your core muscles as well as your entire body. We also Keiser strength machines, and as far as rehab is concerned, they’re fantastic pieces of technology. In 1978, the Keiser brothers of California introduced the first air-powered variable resistance exercise machines to the world for building strength and power. The Keisers wanted a safer and less stressful alternative to traditional weights, and their machines were the result.
Our Keiser strength machines are ideally suited to meet your rehabilitation goals. That’s because the machines use air resistance technology, allowing a gradual increase in resistance to your muscles and joints. At the same time, there’s zero shock loading to these areas to prevent extra stress on tissues that are already in repair after injury.
It’s said that 80% of the world’s top professional sports now train on Keiser machines. This includes all 32 Major League Baseball teams in the United States, a handful of Super Bowl winners, the champion football teams in nine countries, Olympic athletes and more. That says a lot about the quality of Keiser machines, and the results they help to achieve. Now we know that your goals might be more concerned with getting well and being mobile again. But when you use the Keiser machines in our gym, at least you know you’re using equipment that meets the standards of those who expect the very best.
